Finding Lasting Joy: Studies in Philippians, Jenny Fitch, Bible Teacher
Life is hard. We experience divisiveness in our culture and in the Church. We may suffer for being a Christian. We may feel like having joy in this life is impossible. Yet Paul tells us in the Book of Philippians that there is a way to find joy, a lasting joy that transcends our circumstances. This lasting joy is found only in Christ. We can find this joy when suffering for Christ’s sake and we can find this joy when pursuing Christ-centered unity with other believers. Join us as we meditate on this gospel of joy, a lasting joy that leads to “the God of peace” (Philippians 4:9).

In our Introductory Session called “Wading Through the Waters with Jesus”, Bible Teacher Kath Davis encourages us to wade into Scripture and find Jesus in the waters. From the trickling stream to the whelming flood, Jesus brings us through all of it. Join us as we navigate the Big Story of Redemption that the waters tell in Scripture.

Keynote Bible Teacher

Jenny Fitch (Certificate: Systematic Theology, Reformed Theological Seminary) has served as a campus missionary with DiscipleMakers for the last 11 years, teaching the Bible and discipling college-aged women. She is passionate about helping women know what their bibles say more deeply, and know Jesus more sweetly. She lives in Reading, PA with her husband, Lincoln, and her four young children, and enjoys homeschooling, reading, and drinking an abundance of coffee.

Jenny answered a few questions about why she chose the Book of Philippians for her talks this year. Check out this short video clip on our YouTube channel:

Kath has been a key part of Women in the Word since its early days, serving as a Study Group Leader (SGL) since 2013. In addition to preparing for her own role as an SGL, Kath has helped the other SGLs prepare for the Workshop by providing numerous talks related to biblical interpretation and teaching, and by designing materials for their use during the SGL Training Sessions. She has taught the large group session and has led the women in worship at the Workshop.

Kath is a minor prophets girl, and is devoted to studying Scripture thoroughly to know God more richly. She has been an invited speaker on the minor prophets and other topics at various churches. Kath lives in Piscataway, New Jersey with her husband, Joe, and her two sons and daughter. She teaches ceramics at the local community college and runs her own pottery business.

Worship Music – Rachel MacKay
Rachel MacKay

Rachel was born and raised in a Christian home where faith in God and musical training were always the focus. She began to serve God with her musical abilities at a very young age and was led to major in music education in college. It was in 1989 that she first came to serve on the worship team of Faith Presbyterian Church of Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania in an assistant capacity. Following her passion to help others grow their musical talents, she formed “Relentless Faith” a youth jazz band in September of 2010. In June of 2012, she became the Director of Music Ministry and is very excited to share new music as well as time-honored music, with the congregation. “Music is such a glorious gift from God. It is a privilege to be involved with music in ways that help others worship God, learn the truth of His great love for us and also help others realize their own musical gifts.” Rachel teaches about 35 piano students privately during the week. She lives with her husband Jeff and a few critters in Langhorne. In her spare time, she has honed her cappuccino making skills and can produce an award-winning brew.

This is Rachel’s 8th year leading us in songs of praise to our great God. You can listen to Rachel’s music from our 2020 Workshop on our YouTube channel:
